Tyndall adds to his staff

Tennessee new basketball coach Donnie Tyndall said at his Tuesday press conference that he would likely complete and announce his staff during the next 48-hours. As Tyndall starts his second full day on the job, his staff appears to be complete with the hiring of Ole Miss assistant Al Pinkins.

Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy confirmed the news to RebelGrove.com, the Ole Miss rivals site earlier.

As Tyndall noted on Tuesday, he was bringing all of his Southern Miss staff with him in some capacity, meaning some would likely have a change in responsibility.

"I have a fantastic staff that I had at Southern Miss and I have to make some decisions and a lot of that is going to be predicated on a couple different guys that I am visiting with. My entire staff is going to be coming with me from Southern Miss but they may not be in the same role," Tyndall said on Tuesday. "I have to make some decisions as I just said, visit with a couple other people and I hope to have that done in the next 48-72 hours."

Pinkins and Tyndall have a long history. The two worked together at MTSU were Pinkins was an 8 year assistant coach before moving to Ole Miss. Pinkins is orginally from Georgia and has lots of recruiting ties to West Tennessee and Memphis where he has done most of his work the last 10 years.

With the arrival of Pinkins, Tyndall's staff appears to be complete although job responsibilities are not known at this time. Joining Tyndall from Southern Mississippi is Jareem Dowling and Adam Howard who were with Tyndall at Morehead State as well along with Chris Shumate who was with Tyndall for just this past season after working several years at Cincinnati. Tyndall's operations director Justin Phelps, who was with Tyndall who was at South Carolina prior to his arrival at Southern Miss two years ago.
