4-star receiver Bush recaps Rocky Top visit

With one spot left open at wide receiver in the 2018 class, Tennessee is looking at several different prospects. Some smaller that are quick and others that are long and deep threat difference makers. The latter being Schertz, Texas product Tommy Bush. The lone star state native was in Knoxville earlier in the week as he makes his summer tour of college campuses.

"Tennessee was really nice," Bush said. "We were really impressed by them. We wish we could have seen our wide receiver coach, but he was busy and that's understandable. He had told me that he would be out recruiting. We got to see a lot and it was a good visit."

Bush is basically visiting most of the SEC with trips to Georgia, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama and others either in the books or planned for this weekend. The number one objective is to spend time with the coaching staffs at each stop.

"It was good to check them out in person" Bush said. "That's what a lot of this trip is about. Just seeing what they are about in person and what they are like. Coach (Butch) Jones is a good guy. It's nice to see them outside of the football field. I like him and he talked about how much of a player person he is and how he has players over to his house."

An avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, Bush got to see plenty of swag from the Steel City's best player: Antonio Brown. Jones isn't shy to hype his former player and there is plenty of stuff around his office. It was that, and one other room in the Anderson Training Center that left Bush giddy.

"We were talking about him," Bush said. "He coached him and how they were at Central Michigan. I saw all his memorabilia, and then I saw the Peyton Manning room, too. You know how much money is in that room? It was awesome."

The quick stops at each school give Bush a feel, but does he believe he can get a clear picture of what each school is about?

"It's a mix of both," Bush said. "I knew what kind of offense they run and they are in the SEC and that's a good thing. I knew the game plan, but the only thing was not meeting the receivers coach. That's the big thing is getting to spend time with the position coach, but we will see. I like Tennessee though."

Rivals.com ranks Bush as a 4-star wide receiver in the class of 2018.
