Bluff City back talks Vols offer

Tennessee had already made nearly a dozen offers to instate standouts in the class of 2017 before Saturday.
Another was handed out at Tennessee's junior day as Memphis running back Cordarrian Richardson picked up his offer from the Vols when head coach Butch Jones brought him into his office to give him the good news.

"They brought me to his office and I didn't know what they were doing," Richardson explained. "They called me to the back and they said they wanted to offer me. It was Coach Jones. I was speechless."
"He said he liked the way I ball and he liked the way I looked on film."
Richardson already had offers from Florida State and Arkansas State but noted that the Tennessee offer was special as well.
"It was great. It means a lot to have an SEC offer," Richardson said.
It was Richardson's first visit to Tennessee and the 6-foot, 217-pound Trezevant High School tailback walked away knowing more about the Vols.
"I got to experience a lot of great things," Richardson said. "I like the coaches and how they talked to me.
"I like the coaches. They are cool."
Richardson, a Bluff City native, said he grew up a Tennessee fan as well and that made the visit and offer even more appealing.
"I grew up watching Tennessee a lot," Richardson said.
