Commitment Roundup: Taylor, Lawless and Flint have big games

Here’s a look at how Tennessee’s commits fared on the field this week, including big performances from wideout Alontae Taylor, defensive tackle Brant Lawless and linebacker Matthew Flint.

Harris had four carries for 94 yards and a touchdown reception in a 42-8 win for Baylor over Chattanooga Christian School. He had six tackles on defense.

Tennessee's linebacker commit continued a stellar senior season on Friday night, once again putting up big numbers on both sides of the ball. Flint had 12 tackles on defense and was huge on offense, hauling in six receptions for 150 yards two touchdowns. Flint accounted for both of Madison Co.’s TDs in a hard-fought 17-14 loss to Randolph.

Taylor had 17 carries for 109 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Cookeville. He also threw for 149 yards and a touchdown, accounting for all three scores in a 45-21 loss.

Dixon rushed for 90 yards on 24 carries and had two catches for 22 yards in a 27-22 loss to Macon County.

Buford was idle this weekend.

The southpaw quarterback completed 10-of-22 passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay Tech's 26-14 win over Hillsborough High.

Five tackles and an interception in a 56-0 win over Agape Christian Academy.

Baldwin fell 45-2 to Evans on homecoming. Harris' stats were not available, but the Braves completed as many passes as interceptions (four).

Mays had eight tackles on defense and played offensive tackle in a 50-14 loss to Brentwood Academy.

Anonutti and Ensworth rolled Trezvant HS 42-6 on Friday, as Antonutti recorded six tackles to go along with a sack. He also played offensive tackle.

Rome walloped Pealing County High 62-0, as Chatman and Tennessee target Adam Anderson helped engineer the shutout effort.

Lawless had a big game in Nashville Christian's 25-22 win over Franklin Road Academy. The 4-star defensive tackle had eight tackles, 3.5 TFLs and 2 sacks in the win.

Brooks was 2-of-2 on field goals this week, connecting from 37 and 40 yards out. He put each of his five kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks and had one punt downed inside the 20.

A week after recording a team-high 11 tackles and 3 TFLs, Gerald did not play in the College of Canyons 52-42 win over Long Beach.

Horn and Alpharetta had a bye this weekend.

Ingle returned from his meniscus injury and had four tackles in a 20-0 win over Mainland.

Dunbar was blanked 48-0 by Venice.

Gibbs beat Morristown East 42-28.

Warren was held without a catch in Farragut's 14-9 win over Knox West.

Dutchtown HS was off last week. Dean attended Saturday's win over UMass, his first game at Neyland Stadium.
