The first player to sign with Tennessee in the 2024 class is officially a Vol.

Three-star in-state edge rusher Carson Gentle signed on Wednesday morning.

Despite his size, Gentle possesses impressive speed to get after the quarterback. He has shown the ability to blow by defenders around the edge.

This comes from multiple techniques. He gets down in his stance a good amount and can also rush from a standing start.

Impressively, Gentle has the strength to bully offensive linemen as a power rusher. He does a good job of shedding blocks and rushing or stuffing the run.

He also spent time as a tight end within the offense showing off his athleticism.
