4-star safety likes first impression of the Vols

Four-star safety Trikweze Bridges spent Saturday in Knoxville for Junior Day in his first ever visit to Tennessee and the Alabama left Rocky Top impressed.

“It was a fun trip. It was my first trip up there. I was impressed,” the 6-3 Lanett, Alabama native said. “I really like how the coaches interact with the players and how the players interact with each other.”

Bridges said he didn't know what to expect coming to Rocky Top, but wanted to check the Vols out because of what he knew about new head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

“I knew coach Pruitt was a new coach here and I wanted to see what he's going to build up here,” Bridges offered.

“I spent a lot of time both coach Pruitt and coach (Charles) Kelly. It was good to get some time with them.

Bridges said that the talked a lot about how he would be used in their defensive system and the need the Vols have in the secondary. At this point, Bridges doesn't have any more unofficial visits scheduled but said he would like to get back to Knoxville and get more of a feel for the Vols who left a good first impression.

“I would like to come back up for a game,” Bridges said. “I want to see how the coaching staff works and how they are with the players.”

Rivals.com ranks Bridges in the Rivals250.
