Mississippi 2018 wideout has Vols high on his list

Jackson, Mississippi class of 2018 receiver Malik Heath may be committed to Mississippi State, but the four star prospect's recruitment is far from over.

“I open to some other schools,” Heath said. “Tennessee is very high on my radar.”

Heath was in Knoxville last summer for camp. He will be in East Tennessee in early March for a 7 on 7 tournament and he plans to camp again at Tennessee this summer.

“It's like a different world when I go up there and visit,” Heath said. “The coaches are great. I have great relationship with them. Coach Z (Zach Azzanni) and I talk almost every day.

“It's great. It feels like that they really care about me. They care for me more than just as a player. On the field, I feel like I can compete up there right away.”

At 6-4, 200 pounds Heath said he models his game after guys like Julio Jones and Mike Williams and that coaches like his combination of size and athletic ability.

“Schools tell me that they like my speed and my ability to go get the ball,” Heath offered.

In addition to the Vols, Heath has several schools on his radar. Obviously, Mississippi State remains high on his list. He also has interest in Louisville, Ole Miss, Florida, and Florida State.

“I haven't seen Florida or Florida State, but plan on camping there this summer as well,” Heath said. “I plan to get back to Louisville, Ole Miss and Mississippi State as well.”

Heath is ranked as the second best player in the state of Mississippi for 2018.
