S&P Stock Report: Week 4

Tennessee lost a heartbreaker at Florida this past Saturday, falling 26-20 in Gainesville on a 63-yard touchdown at the buzzer.

Jesse Simonton and Austin Price deliver their analysis in the latest edition of the S&P Stock Report before the Vols take on the UMass Minutemen at noon (SEC Network) this weekend.

STOCK REPORT: WEEK 4
⬆️ John Kelly. Tennessee's starting tailback leads the SEC in rushing and all-purpose yards after totaling 237 yards in The Swamp against Florida. Kelly has led the team in rushing and receiving the last two weeks, becoming the Vols' own version of LaDainian Tomlinson.

⬇️

Quinten Dormady. The quarterback struggled mightily in his first-career road start, tossing three INTs and completing just 44 percent of his passes that weren't screens.

↔️

Bob Shoop's defense. The line played much better. They forced three turnovers and had two sacks, but explosive plays remains a bugaboo — including UF's not-Hail Mary.

⬆️

The OL — specifically in the run game. Walt Wells' unit still has some work to do in pass protection, but even without a mobile quarterback, Tennessee racked up more than 200 yards on the ground against UF's stout rush defense.

⬇️

The Vols' kicking situation. Brent Cimaglia drilled his first-career FG attempt (51 yards), but he missed his next two kicks and then Aaron Medley missed a 44-yarder. Who will Butch Jones send out there next time for a long kick?

⬆️

Rashaan Gaulden. Tennessee's nickel-back was the defense's best player Saturday, leading the team with 10 tackles and recording a key INT in the fourth quarter.
