Tennessee basketball assistant coach Rod Clark suspended for pair of games

Just before tipping off the regular season, Tennessee has announced a suspension for one of its assistant coaches.

Rod Clark has been suspended for the first two games of the season. This includes Monday's matchup with Tennessee Tech and Friday's road battle with Wisconsin.

"The University and assistant men's basketball coach Rod Clark are working collaboratively with the NCAA to address a violation. Coach Clark is suspended for the first two games of the 2023-24 season versus Tennessee Tech and Wisconsin. Coach Clark has acknowledged his error in judgment and accepted full responsibility. We appreciate his cooperation throughout the process. NCAA bylaws prohibit additional comments or details."

Clark has been with the program since 2021. Previously, he coached at Sunrise Christian Academy, Illinois-Chicago and Austin Peay.

He has produced NBA talent in Kennedy Chandler and Julian Phillips while at Tennessee. He also has previously assisted in the development of Tyrese Maxey, Shaq Harrison and Drew Timme.
