The Sunday morning blitz

Tennessee has two practices in the books and there's been plenty to write about, talk about and look at through their first two workouts as well as a busy junior day. Over the last couple of days, Volquest.com has had wall to wall coverage of team #118 and the football Vols. Here's a recap of the last couple of days which totals 14 content items with a rewind we like to call the blitz.

The quarterbacks speak
The quarterback position is obviously the most anticipated and most discussed battle of the spring with four signal callers vying for the position. On Friday all four candidates visited with the media including redshirt freshman Riley Ferguson who spoke for the first time.

A second home
The Anderson Training Center is the centerpiece for the Tennessee football team. It's a show piece for recruiting. It's the brain center for the program in all areas from locker room, to film room, to weight room, and the coaches' offices. For a couple of Vols it's been a home away from home. Find out more about Corey Vereen's overnight stays in the complex as well as Marlin Lane's decision to spent the holidays in the complex.

Maggitt returns
Head coach Butch Jones calls linebacker Curt Maggitt the heart and soul of his team. A lofty label given Maggitt has never played a game snap for the second year coach. Maggitt hit the practice field Friday with no knee brace, no green jersey, and an understanding of his responsibility to lead team #118.

Sights and sounds
With each practices our goal at Volquest is to do our best to bring you all we see and hear from the Vols workout. We do it in three different ways. First our quick hits feature which is the first look at the Vols workout as they leave the practice field. Second, our two minute drill. A video recap of the workout based on observations and post practice conversations. Third, our photo galleries to try and give you an image of what the Vols look like and finally, our video highlights. It's video of what we get to see which sometimes includes one on one battles like we saw on Saturday.
