Tennessee has landed the commitment of one of the highest-rated players in the 2023 class.
Former LSU tackle and five-star prospect Lance Heard has picked the Vols after recently visiting.
He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Heard appeared in 12 games for the Tigers during his true freshman season while making one start. He opted out of the bowl game while weighing his options for the future.
Heard had a number of suitors during his recruitment out of the portal but quickly scheduled visits to see both Tennessee and Oklahoma.
He will come in looking to immediately fill the hole that Gerald Mincey left at the tackle position on the offensive line.
Out of high school, Heard was considered the No. 27 player in the country. He was the second-highest-rated player in Louisiana and the No. 3 overall player at the tackle position.
While the Vols weren't in the running for Heard in high school, other SEC foes including Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Missouri extended him offers.
