Kellogg claims leader

It's been a few weeks since Tykee Ogle Kellogg got the offer he was working for. The word that Tennessee was offering him the chance to sign up to wear the orange and white. The Alcoa, Tennessee standout made the 15 minute drive on Saturday for junior day and was blown away.

"It was amazing," Kellogg said. "I loved the experience and everything about it was great. Hopefully I can be back for another experience about it. I just loved how the coaches were interactive and how they were talking more about the team and how they were talking more about you growing as a person."

The reigning class 3A Mr. Football has seen his relationship with Tennessee coaches grow recently. That's only natural, but he also just likes how they sell their program.

"I talk to coach Azzanni a lot," Kellogg said. "I talk to coach Butch (Jones). They were just talking to me about my family and everything. I loved the hype videos. They just hit me with a feeling.

"Them being able to push people. Just when you see the NFL players from here."

With offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, South Carolina and others, Kellogg continues to see more and more attention. At 6-foot-4, he's a massive target and hard for programs to ignore.

So where does Tennessee stand coming out of Saturday?

"Yeah (they lead)," Kellogg said. "Something today pushed them. I'm just waiting to see if I get any more offers. I'm going to take some visits and see if my heart changes, but as of right now, UT is it.

"They are the hometown school and are close to my family. Just all my friends telling me to come here has been growing on me."

In the meantime, Kellogg will be hard at work as he sharpens his craft. He can quickly tell you in one area where he needs to improve.

"Route running," Kellogg said. "I have to be more consistent with my route running and be just more consistent period, honestly."

Rivals.com ranks Kellogg as a 3-star wide receiver in the class of 2018.
