“I told everyone early on that the phone calls and the recruiting process did not bother me,” the 6-3, 190 pound Schaeffer said. “And I am still glad they are calling instead of not calling, but the phone has been ringing constantly and it just starts to wear on you. I am glad things are going to slow down for a little while.”
Schaeffer and his mom spend the weekend in Manhattan, Kansas visiting Kansas State and Schaeffer said the visit went fine.
“It was alright,” Schaeffer said. “But Tennessee is my leader at this point. In fact after visiting Kansas State, I like Tennessee even more. I just like the players, the system, coach Fulmer, and all of the offensive coaches up there.”
And even though Tennessee does lead for Schaeffer’s services and he though he admits the recruiting process is wearing on him some, Schaeffer is adament that he is a ways away from making a decision.
“I will definitely take all of my visits,” Schaeffer said. “I am going to South Florida on January 9th and am going to N.C. State on January 23rd. I am going to take them before making a decision.”
Schaeffer said he was unsure if his mother would make all of his visits, but you would expect that she might after traveling to both Tennessee and Kansas State.
Rivals.com rates Schaeffer as the ninth best dual threat quarterback nationally.
