Tennessee baseball will return to Texas for a neutral-site tournament in 2025.

The Vols have made it a tradition under Tony Vitello to play in similar events at the beginning of their seasons. This time, it'll be The Astros Foundation College Classic at Minute Maid Park.

Other teams in the competition include Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Arizona, Oklahoma State and Rice.

The three-day slate of games will include each team playing a single game on each day. This begins on February 28 and will conclude on March 2.

For Tennessee, it will open things up against Oklahoma State at 3:05 p.m. CT. Game two will be against Rice to open the day at 11:05 a.m. CT. The Vols will conclude their trip with Arizona at 11:05 a.m. CT.

While the Aggies are in the field, Tennessee is not scheduled to play the team it just downed in the College World Series finals to claim the 2024 National Championship.

There will be a winner of the tournament named after the event based off of the following criteria.

1) Winning percentage (min. 3 games)

2) If two teams tie in winning percentage then head-to-head between both teams

3) If multiple teams tie in winning percentage, then run differential

4) If two teams tie in winning percentage and don’t play head-to-head, then run differential

Tennessee competed in the event four times since its inception in 2001. This came as recently as the 2022 campaign that resulted in the Vols winning both SEC titles and entering the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed.

Tennessee has never won the event, though.
