Oklahoma is now officially a new member of the storied SEC as of July 1.

Since Josh Heupel took the Tennessee job, the Vols have battled the Sooners in several recruitments.

VolReport takes a look at the battles that ended with one of the two teams ultimately winning out in the recruitment.

Heupel and his staff, coming from Central Florida, tried tapping into their connections inside the state of Florida early and Derrick LeBlanc was a player from the Sunshine State that they liked.

In the end, however, he would pick Oklahoma as his destination. He has since transferred to UCF.

While not as much of a recruiting battle, Oklahoma did manage to poach former Tennessee nose tackle Da'Jon Terry prior to last season.

There, he would record 18 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack.

Defensive tackle Davon Sears is a player that Tennessee really took a look at last offseason as he was coming from Texas State.

He had a lot of promise as an athletic option on the interior of the defensive line and had several teams looking his way. He only managed to play in three games last season for the Sooners.

Both Tennessee and Oklahoma were a part of the massive offensive tackle Bennett Warren's final four, but the Vols were ultimately the pick.

The tackle has a lot of potential that the coaching staff is hoping to develop as they rebuild the offensive line in the next couple of seasons.

Although edge rusher, Danny Okoye from Oklahoma, was trending to Tennessee for the vast majority of his recruitment.

The physical and athletic traits made him a very attractive recruit for the LEO position in the Vols defense. In the end, however, he would ultimately choose Norman to be his next home and will now play against Tennessee in this upcoming season.

The latest recruiting battle between the two came down to interior offensive lineman Antoni Ogumoro. While the three-star is currently in the Sooner State, he is not originally from there, as the family has moved there this offseason.

His size and athleticism gives him a lot of potential to work with at Tennessee.
