The Tennessee baseball team will look a little more complete this week.
Just minutes after it was reported that highly touted shortstop transfer Maui Ahuna was granted eligibility by the NCAA, the school announced that head coach Tony Vitello has been reinstated after serving a self-imposed three-game suspension during the Vols’ series vs. Dayton this past weekend.
Vitello’s brief suspension stemmed from his involvement in the recruitment of Ahuna, who transferred to Tennessee from Kansas in June.
Tennessee (6-2) swept Dayton and will host Charleston Southern on Tuesday and Thursday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium before taking on Gonzaga in another home three-game series this weekend.
