The Tennessee football program hosted a number of high school recruits from across the country for its game against Texas A&M a couple of weekends ago.

Among the visitors in attendance was highly-touted 2027 Jefferson (Ga.) athlete Max Brown. He has interest from many top-tier programs – including Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee.

“Tennessee has always been one of my favorite schools," Brown told VolReport. "Going up there definitely helps back that up. ... I love Tennessee as a whole. Knoxville is an amazing city.”

Brown has always held the Vols in high regard as they have been at the top of his recruitment for a while. His visit only helped solidify that as he loves everything about Tennessee. So far, his only offer is from USF, but there are many schools involved in this recruitment already.

Tennessee and Florida State stand out to Brown and are the most involved, along with USF.

“The coaches at Tennessee are the best – they’re nice and funny," Brown said. "Some of my favorite coaches are Coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary), Coach (Danny) O’Rourke, Coach (Aaron) Amaama, and Coach (Jerry) Mack. The relationship is very strong. ... We always greet each other with a hug or a handshake.”

The Jefferson (Ga.) standout will try and get back to another game this season in Knoxville as he had a great time for the Texas A&M contest. He was also on campus during the summer – and last year. Brown also wants to try and visit USF and Clemson, as well as possibly Florida State and Georgia.

As for now, Brown is still taking things pretty slow given that he is only a freshman and it is early into his recruitment. However, it is obvious that he's impressed by Tennessee's program.

“The thing that stood out most is the way they battled back," Brown said while reflecting on the Vols' win over A&M. "They were down at half and ended up coming back. They never gave up and were persistent.”
