5-star CB, pair of committed defensive tackles among Vols visitors

With less than two weeks before National Signing Day, Tennessee is working overtime to close its 2018 class.

The Vols will host six official visitors this weekend, headlined by 5-star cornerback Tyson Campbell. The U.S. Army All-American corner from American Heritage (Fla.) has already taken visits to Georgia and Alabama, his two perceived favorites, but scheduled a trip to Tennessee after receiving a visit from head coach Jeremy Prutt, corner coach Terry Fair and safeties coach Charles Kelly last week.

Joining Campbell in Knoxville will be his American Heritage teammate Nesta Silvera, a 4-star defensive tackle currently committed to Miami. Silvera was visited by Kelly this week.

The Vols will also host Auburn defensive tackle commit Coynis Miller, a 4-star prospect who quickly picked up a Tennessee offer after Pruitt took the job, 3-star defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia and 3-star corner Taiyon Palmer, a former Duke commit who has taken visits to N.C. State and Nebraska and recently picked up offers from Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame.

New Orleans cornerback Brandon Davis, who tweeted he received an offer from Tennessee on Thursday, also is in town for a visit.

Tennessee defensive tackle signee Brant Lawless will take his official visit this weekend with the Vols, too.
