Former All-SEC offensive lineman Antone Davis submitted his resignation — effective Nov. 15 — Wednesday from his post as Tennessee's coordinator for the Vol For Life program.

Davis has served in the position since 2012, taking over for Andre Lott, who started the program under former Vols coach Derek Dooley.

According to VolQuest.com sources, Davis has accepted a job outside of athletics in the Northeast.

“We appreciate Antone’s work for the University of Tennessee and our football program,” athletics director John Currie said in a statement.

“He had an outstanding career here as a student-athlete and then returned more than 20 years later to impact the lives of young men who were following in his footsteps. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Davis was a part of two SEC championship teams at Tennessee from 1986-90, getting drafted No. 8 overall in 1991 by the Philadelphia Eagles.
