Tennessee baseball is now a win away from going to a fifth-straight super regional.
The 14-seed Vols took down Cincinnati 10-6 on Saturday in the Knoxville Regional to advance to the regional finals.
UT will need to win one of its following two games to advance.

A big reason for the win was Marcus Phillips on the mound. In his start, he put together one of the best outings of his career. He went six frames while giving up just three runs on four hits and striking out eight.
Behind Phillips AJ Russell got the ball. He nearly closed out the game, but ran into trouble while allowing three runs to cross (all unearned). Brandon Arvidson entered to close out the game and grab the final out.
Tennessee got most of its insurance in the sixth inning when it plated four runs. Before that, Dean Curley was crucial. After a two-RBI single in the first, he lifted a solo shot in the third to knock in the Vols' first three runs of the game.
Also having an effective day was Gavin Kilen. He put together a four-hit day and crossed home for three runs.
WHAT HAPPENED
With Kilen singling and Andrew Fischer and Hunter Ensley drawing walks, Tennessee loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the first. With one down, Curley came through. He poked a single into right to score a pair and take an early 2-0 lead.
With two on, Levi Clark put together an 11-pitch at-bat that featured five-straight fouled-off two-strike pitches before walking. Cannon Peebles ripped a ball to center, but Cincinnati's Derrick Pitts made a diving catch to keep the score at 2-0.
The Bearcats got their first batter on with an infield single via Big 12 Player of the Year Kerrington Cross. After Phillips issued a walk, he produced three-straight outs to get out of the inning without a run crossing.
Kilen ripped his second single of the game with one down in the second. However, he was stranded at first. Phillips retired the side in order, though, to mark six-straight outs.
Curley came through again in the third. In his second at-bat of the game, he ripped a solo shot off the batter's eye. This gave UT a 3-0 lead with all three of its runs via Curley's bat.
Cincinnati got its offense going in the third. The Bearcats used a single and sac-fly to plate a pair of runs. Phillips limited it to that, though, as the score settled at 3-2.
In the fourth, Kilen popped up to left field but a miscommunication let the ball drop. The result was a triple with one out. After Cincinnati tried to trick him on a pick-off move, Fischer grounded out to score him and grab one of the runs back.
The Bearcats put one on in the fifth, but Phillips picked him off to help get out of the inning clean. In the top of the sixth, Peebles ripped a double to get it started. Kilen singled with one out to put runners on the corners.
Fischer took advantage of the opportunity, drilling a double to score both runners. This forced Cincinnati to hit the bullpen as it trailed 6-2. Tennessee added two more in the inning off a bases-loaded walk and sac-fly.
In the bottom of the seventh, Phillips allowed a solo shot to begin the inning. This marked the end of his outing as Russell took over. He allowed a runner to score on a passed ball and another to reach third on a balk. However, he finalized things there to keep the score at 8-4 in favor of Tennessee.
In the top of the ninth, the Vols threatened to add more insurance. Clark singled and Peebles doubled to put two in scoring position with one out. With the infield in, Manny Marin snuck a ball just past a diving glove of the short stop to score two and make it a 10-4 game.
Russell remained in the game in the bottom of the ninth, but had an error put one on and a double put two in scoring position. With two outs, he allowed back-to-back hits to let Cincinnati put two more on the board. This made it a 10-6 game with two on.
Tony Vitello went to Arvidson for the final out. He struck out the lone batter he faced to secure the win.
UP NEXT
Tennessee is one game away from the super regionals for a fifth-straight season. The Vols will need to beat either Cincinnati or Wake Forest once in two tries to punch its ticket.
UT will get its first chance at 6 p.m. ET tomorrow evening. It will get the winner between the Bearcats and Demon Deacons who will play earlier in the afternoon.
If Tennessee loses the first game, a winner-take-all game seven of the regional will be held on Monday. First pitch time and TV designation is yet to be determined.
The Vols will hit the road for the super regionals if 3-seed Arkansas wins its regional. If the Razorbacks are upset, Tennessee will be the host site.
