Rod Clark is heading to Indiana after four seasons on Rick Barnes' staff at Tennessee.

Clark, who will join Hoosiers' first-year head coach Darian DeVries' staff, was a part of the Vols' SEC Tournament Championship run in 2022, an SEC regular season title in 2024 and two Elite Eight runs in 2024 and 2025.

Two days after Clark's departure was reported, he pinned a letter to the Tennessee basketball program on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday morning.

"My family and I are overwhelmed with gratitude stemming from our time here at the University of Tennessee," Clark wrote. "It means so much that my two little girls were born here, as my wife and I always felt an overwhelming amount of love and support from this community. As we say our goodbyes, I would like to thank Coach Barnes, the staff, our administration, the fans and every player we were blessed to go out and compete with.

"Thank you, Vol Nation, for four of the best years of my life. Rocky Top is a special place and we will miss Knoxville dearly."

There hasn't been an official announcement about who Barnes will hire to fill the void now left on his staff, which includes associate head coach Justin Gainey, and assistant coaches Gregg Polinsky, Bryan Lentz and Lucas Campbell.

During the media portion of his Big Orange Caravan stop in Nashville earlier this week, Barnes was confident that he would the position filled soon.

"He will, I am sure, do a good job at Indiana," Barnes said. "We’ve got it covered because there’s a lot of people that would obviously love to be at the University of Tennessee--in my job. We are excited about the direction that we are going and we’ve got it pretty much filled.”
