Tennessee baseball's first opponent of the 2025 SEC Tournament has been decided.
After 9-seed Alabama took down 16-seed Missouri 4-1 in the opening game of the conference tournament, the Vols will now square off with the Tide on Wednesday morning.
First pitch is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. ET and will air on SEC Network.

Tennessee has already met Alabama on the diamond this season. In the second SEC series of the year for the Vols, they went down to Tuscaloosa and took two of three against the Tide.
Despite a game one loss with Liam Doyle, the SEC Pitcher of the Year, getting the start, they rattled off consecutive wins on March 21 and 22 to take the set.
Tennessee is now going after consecutive SEC titles in the tournament and third under Tony Vitello.
In program history, the Vols have won five conference tournament titles in 2024, 2022, 1995, 1994 and 1993.
Tennessee has five regular season conference in 2024, 2022, 1995, 1994 and 1951.
This year, the Vols finished eighth in the conference’s regular season slate while going 16-14 in conference play. They are on an icey stretch, losing their previous five SEC series.
If Tennessee wins its first game of this year’s tournament, it will place top-seeded Texas on Thursday at 3 p.m.
The winner of that game is on to the semifinals, played on Saturday. The most likely opponent would be 4-seed Vanderbilt.
The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. All games are on SEC Network, but the finals airing on ESPN2.
Other top seeds are 2-seed Arkansas and 3-seed LSU.
