Tennessee basketball is one of the latest programs to get in the mix of fast-rising combo guard Bryson Howard.
Out of Texas, the Vols extended an offer to him on Sunday. It was extended by newly hired assistant coach Amorrow Morgan.
This was a part of a string of offers that went Howard's way this past weekend.

"It's been going good," Howard said about his recruitment. "I picked up a few more offers from SMU, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Wake Forest."
This came after Howard showed out at Nike EYBL. On3 listed him as the second-best overall performer in the event.
This hype came after some ridiculous stat lines. In game one, he posted 32 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block. He followed it up with a 33-point, four-steal game in game two. To round his weekend out, he notched 25 points.
While it isn't a shock that college programs took notice of these performances, it was still a special moment for him to get word of the offer from the Vols.
"I was shocked and excited because I used to always talk about one day I'm gonna get offers and they're gonna be off of hard work," Howard said.
The offer came from Morgan, a new assistant coach under Rick Barnes. He was hired out of Florida State where he was preparing to begin his first season with the Seminoles' program. Prior to heading to Tallahassee, he was at Cal.
Morgan is known for his recruiting prowess, making him a natural fit to replace Rod Clark. Clark packed his bags for Indiana where he is continuing his coaching journey after being a key piece of Tennessee's recruiting efforts in recent years.
"He's a very great coach," Howard said on Morgan. "He trusts and believes in everything I do and thats basically what all a kid needs to be great."
Howard likes his fit in Tennessee's system, too. While he's showing his potential of scoring at an elite level, he also isn't afraid to put an emphasis on defense.
Despite scoring at will during Nike EYBL, Howard admitted his calling card is on the defensive end. After all, it's defensive excellence that help him put up points.
"I would say playing defense because I'm tall, lengthy and I can get easy passing lane steals and on-ball steals which convert to easy fast break buckets on offense," Howard said.
The defensive prowess, combined with his scoring ability, is what the Tennessee staff is preaching to him about the natural fit. Howard noted that getting reassurance on the fit is 'a great thing to hear.'
While he reels in new offers, Howard is putting together a list of qualities he's looking for in potential schools.
Overall, what he is looking for is simple.
"Just to play hard and take all the experience in and enjoy my time in college," Howard said.
