On the heels of the college football regular season, the announcements of players planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal have been flooding in.
Tennessee hasn't been immune.
Jimmy Holiday – a junior wide receiver for the Vols – announced his intention to enter the portal via an Instagram post on Wednesday.
He is the first Tennessee player to enter the portal, which officially opens on Monday.
Holiday was a three-star dual threat quarterback from Madison, Mississippi when he signed with former Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt's 2020 class. He picked the Vols over Ole Miss and TCU, among others.
Holiday was recruited by Tennessee as an athlete and transitioned to receiver as a freshman in 2020. He had six catches for 106 yards and a touchdown this season, but mostly appeared on special teams – where he accounted for 281 return yards.
Holiday will have two more seasons of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
