James Pearce Jr. (#27) - Atlanta Falcons
A first-round pick by the Falcons, James Pearce Jr. is sticking with No. 27. That was the number he wore all three years at Tennessee.
The other number Pearce has repped in his career was No. 10 in high school.
The last Falcon to wear No. 27 was safety Richie Grant. Other notable players in the franchise's history to wear the number were linebackers Robert McClain and Damontae Kazee.
Pearce is coming off his true junior season after a standout three-year career with the Vols.
As a junior, Pearce recorded 38 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He defended one pass and forced a fumble at the goal line against Florida in a game Tennessee ultimately won in overtime.
For this season, he was named a First Team All-SEC member by the league's coaches.
Omarr Norman-Lott (#55) - Kansas City Chiefs
Omarr Norman-Lott, a second-round pick by the Chiefs, is also sticking with his college number. He'll wear No. 55 in the NFL, as well.
This has been the choice of number for Norman-Lott his entire career. He wore it as Arizona State and in high school, too.
Last season, the number was worn by Josh Uche and Swayze Bowman with Kansas City.
Norman-Lott played a pair of seasons with Tennessee. In his final year, he played in all 13 games. He recorded 18 tackles, four tackles for loss, four sacks and three quarterback hurries during the season.
In his first year in Knoxville as a junior, Norman-Lott played in 10 games. During that time, he earned 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. (#10) - Las Vegas Raiders
Dont'e Thornton Jr. is changing up his number with the Raiders.
The fourth-round selection is wearing No. 10 with Las Vegas. At Tennessee, he sported No. 1 for both of his seasons.
At Oregon, Thornton wore No. 2 in his sophomore year. As a freshman, he sported No. 10, though. In high school, he wore No. 11.
Wide receiver Tre Tucker already is wearing No. 1, first-round pick running back Ashton Jeanty claimed No. 2 and veteran safety Jeremy Chinn is wearing No. 11, already.
Thornton played his final two seasons with Tennessee. As a senior in 2024, he played in all 13 games while totaling 26 catches for 661 yards and six touchdowns. This included an 86-yard strike for a score.
In his first year with the Vols, he played in nine games before getting injured on a touchdown catch against Missouri that held him out for the remainder of the season.
On the year, he racked up 13 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown.
Dylan Sampson (#22) - Cleveland Browns
Dylan Sampson a fourth-round pick by the Browns, is also changing up his number. In the NFL, he'll sport No. 22.
Sampson wore No. 6 in his final two seasons with Tennessee. As a true freshman, he wore No. 24. In high school, he claimed No. 21.
For the Browns, veteran linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is already wearing No. 6 and Pro Bowl defensive back Denzel Ward is wearing No. 21. His first college number, No. 24, is open, though.
Sampson played three seasons at Tennessee before entering his name into the draft.
Most recently, he saw himself used as the feature back in the Vols' offense during a breakout year. He produced 1,491 yards to go with his record 22 rushing scores. He also contributed 143 receiving yards.
This campaign earned him 2024 SEC Offensive Player of the Year by coaches and AP. He was the USA TODAY SEC Player of the Year.
Sampson also earned multiple All-American Second Team honors.
