The Cleveland Browns have officially signed Dylan Sampson.

The former Tennessee running back, who was drafted by the franchise as the 126th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft last month, inked a four-year rookie deal on Friday.

Though there are no official details of the contract, Over the Cap estimates that Sampson’s contract is worth $5,130572 with a signing bonus worth $930,572.

Sampson participated in the Browns’ rookie mini camp this week. He was one of two running backs drafted by Cleveland, joining former Ole Miss and Ohio State standout and second round pick Quinshon Judkins.

Sampson had a record-breaking season for the Vols as a junior in 2024.

The 5-foot-8, 200-pound Sampson totaled 1,491 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns—both program single-season bests—on his way to SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Sampson was key in Tennessee reaching the College Football Playoff for the first time, averaging more than 114 yards per game and rushing for 100-plus yards in 10 games.

Now, Sampson will try and carry that success into the NFL.

“It’s definitely a lot, just coming in,” Sampson told reporters after mini camp at the Browns’ practice facility in Berea, Ohio on Friday. “I mean, since I got here, we’ve just been going, but an opportunity of a lifetime. All the players I’ve met have been so welcoming, meeting all the coaches and everybody, so I’m just looking forward to getting settled and getting my footing down.”

Sampson was one of four former Vols players taken in the 2025 draft.

Edge rusher James Pearce Jr. went in the first round to the Atlanta Falcons, while defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott and wide receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr. were taken in the second and fourth rounds to the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively.

Sampson is the second Tennessee running back drafted under Josh Heupel. Former running back Jaylen Wright was taken by the Miami Dolphins as the 120th pick in the fourth round in 2024.
