Lady Vols signee Deniya Prawl wins girls national championship

Deniya Prawl, one of the Lady Vols' top signees in the 2025 class, has won the girls national championship with IMG Academy.

This comes days after the soon-to-be Tennessee player competed in the McDonald's All American game.

What happened

Prawl, a starter for IMG Academy, helped her team beat Montverde in the national title game.

IMG won 80-78 in a clash that went to overtime. IMG took a 16-10 lead after the first quarter but coughed it up in the second. Being outscored 25-8, the halftime score sat at 35-24 in the favor of Montverde.

IMG made up the deficit in the second half before outscoring Montverde 7-5 in the overtime period.

Prawl finished with 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field and 1-for-2 on 3-pointers. She also contributed six rebounds, a steal and block.

Who is Deniya Prawl

Prawl is a Lady Vols signee in the 2025 cycle. She joins five signees for the class and is ranked as the second-highest in the group by ESPNW at No. 14 in the country.

Prawl is a 6-foot-1 wing out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada who plays for IMG Academy in Florida. She was named a McDonald's All American.

"Deniya is an all-around phenomenal athlete," Lady Vols coach Kim Caldwell said. "She has the ability to have a great four years here and can come in and help us right away. She can shoot threes. She can shoot mid-range. She can score, and she can guard."
