Tennessee basketball has made the move to replace departing assistant coach Rod Clark.

After Clark left for Indiana, Rick Barnes has reportedly hired Cal assistant coach Amorrow Morgan to fill his role, according to a report by Mike Wilson of KnoxNews.

Morgan most recently served as an assistant with the Golden Bears for a span of two years.

"I am thrilled to welcome Amorrow to Rocky Top. As soon as we knew we had a decision to make, it was immediately clear Amorrow would be our first choice," Barnes said. "He is a young, energetic coach with a sharp basketball mind who will make an impact with our program from day one. I know he will do all he can to help our players excel and that he will mesh with the strong culture we have in place."

Under head coach Mark Madsen, he helped his brand grow as an elite recruiter. This makes it a natural fit to replace Clark who was known for his recruiting prowess.

One of his biggest lands at Cal was 2024-25 ACC Sixth Man of the Year and ACC All-Rookie Team selection Jeremiah Wilkinson.

In 2023, he also helped the program reel in the No. 8 transfer portal class in the country according to On3.

Prior to his time at Cal, Morgan coached at Loyola Chicago. He was an assistant there from 2021-23. In 2022, the team won its conference and made an NCAA Tournament appearance.

He is credited with helping develop 2022 MVC Defensive Player of the Year and All-MVC first-team selection Lucas Williamson.

From 2018-21, he coached at South Alabama. In the final two seasons there, he was named the associate head coach.

He was also an assistant at Nicholls State, Henderson State and Illinois-Springfield.

Morgan played his college basketball at Idaho State where he was named a two-time All-Big Sky guard. He played three years of professional basketball in Europe following his college tenure.

He is a native of the Volunteer State, being born in Memphis, Tennessee.

Other coaches alongside Barnes on the staff are associate head coach Justin Gainey, assistant coach Gregg Polinsky, assistant coach Brian Lentz and assistant coach Lucas Campbell.

Other pieces of the staff include Mary Carter-Eggert as Director of Basketball Operations, Garrett Medenwald as Director of Men's Basketball Sports Performance and Chad Newman as Athletic Trainer.
