Tennessee has released financial numbers regarding their new football coaching hires. However, they still haven't released Larry Scott's new financial package after being promoted to offensive coordinator.
Butch Jones' assistants are on two year contracts and new defensive line coach Brady Hoke is making the most of the newcomers. The former Michigan head coach will make $500,000 in 2017. Hoke also does not have a buyout that he has to pay the University if he were to get a head coaching job at another school or in the pro ranks.
Defensive backs coach Charlton Warren will make $450,000 per his contract.
Offensive line coach Walt Wells and quarterbacks coach Mike Canales will both make $300,000 annually.
Tennessee's new receivers coach Kevin Beard, who replaces Zach Azzanni who left for the NFL, will make $280,000.
The buyout for the coaches if they are terminated without cause is simply their monthly pay times the months remaining on their contract at the time of dismissal.
Former defensive line coach Steve Stripling is not under contract in his new role with the program off the field. Stripling's salary was not released. Tennessee also did not release a salary for newly announced quality control assistant Tony Sorrentino, who also is not under a contract.
