Tennessee emerged from the weekend with its No. 1 seed hopes intact.

The Vols overcame a sluggish start to pull off one of their most impressive wins of the season at Texas A&M last Saturday, downing the Aggies, 77-69 in College Station for their second top 10 win in SEC play.

Tennessee will have to wait three weeks to find out its NCAA Tournament seeding fate, but its latest triumph did move it up in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

The Vols climbed one spot to No. 5 in the poll on Monday as they prepare to go on the road against at LSU on Tuesday (9 p.m. ET, SEC Network).

The ranking marked the 76th-straight week that Tennessee has been ranked in the poll, the second-longest active streak behind Houston at 102 weeks after Kansas fell out of the rankings for the first time in 81 weeks.

The Vols were the third highest ranked team in the league as Auburn held steady at No. 1 and Florida was No. 3.

Alabama, which will play Tennessee in Knoxville on Saturday, dropped two spots to No. 6 after going 0-2 last week.

Texas A&M fell out of the top 10 after losing to the Vols, descending to No. 12 and Missouri was up one spot to No. 14.

Kentucky stayed put at No. 17 and Mississippi State was No. 24.

Ole Miss was dropped from the rankings, but received top 25 votes along with Vanderbilt.

Tennessee (22-5, 9-5 SEC) seems to be clicking at the right time. Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler have been stellar in each of the last two games, with Lanier hitting a program-record eight 3-pointers against the Aggies and Zeigler coming up with clutch shots late to beat both Vanderbilt and Texas A&M in back-to-back games.

The Vols, who have moved inside the top 30 in adjusted offensive efficiency, still rank first in defensive efficiency.

They will need both to close out their final stretch strong, starting with the Tigers, who led Florida at halftime in their last outing before the Gators used a second half surge to win in Baton Rouge.

LSU (14-13, 3-11) will be a Quad 2 opportunity for Tennessee.
